Talking Refreshing Experience

Well I am like most here and have never thought much about my dealers service center. In fact, the dealership I got my truck from doesnt even handle SVT products any longer. The dealership closest to my home scared me to death when they took longer to remark and admire my truck that to actually change the oil in it. I over heard some say they had never seen one in real life, SCARY.
Anyhow, I began making the drive 20 miles south of my home just to get little things done and havent had any thing really to brag about till today. I finally broke down at 16,000 miles and had the lower control arm bolt fixed, the driver's seat foam problem, and my ground effects were coming loose. Not only did they not question fixing anything, the woman there, Sami, was awesome. She acted cool, down to earth and was also good looking to boot, lol. She called to make sure I knew everything they did and then was there to greet me this morning, and actually remembered me after a couple days. EXCELLENT!

Sorry for the long post, but you gotta give credit where it is due, and thanks to this trip, Reynolds Ford and Sami have my business from now on.

Eric

Very refreshing, indeed. Too bad those kinds of dealerships are VERY rare. It might even pay you to have the oil changed there a couple of times just to get to know Sami on a friendly basis. Then if something big happens to your L, you'll get 1st rate service without any "did you mod it" questions.

I did that with my Chevy dealer, and the service manager even called me at home one evening on a weekend to see how my gear installation was going, (on a C-1500) after they loaned me several expensive, specialized tools and their entire rear-end shim kit! He even offered to stop by the house and help me!

Wow, You had to go all the way to Norman for service! Is Fred Jones still doing their normal ie. Half a$$ed service? I moved from Edmond in 98. I sure miss the BBQ in OKC

GalaxyEng = I live on the south side anyway, so its not that bad and I go to OU, so no big deal there.

LightStruck = sorry didnt get a pic, but there maybe hope since she is going to call when the new seat comes in, I will ask her then, lol!

MisterSVT, you go to OU? I graduated from there in '98 with an MIS degree. What are you studying?
Well, I don't have anything positive to say about Reynold's Svc. Dept. My college truck ('92 XLT 4x4) had some front-end work done (smacked a curb hard during a rain-storm at Lindsey and Fred Noble Pkwy. south of the Home Depot) and "Bob" the Svc. Mgr. at the time (note, the names have been changed to protect the "innocent") and his "mechanics" put the wrong part, etc on my truck and I ate over $500 due to their incompetencies.
Bottom line, you can't win 'em all....

Yes, Any Ford/Mercury dealer CAN work on a SVT vehicle. Do they want to or know anything is another question.
