So Cal Lower Kit
TimBurntire
I read that you got the lower kit installed and you are running Nittos 305's. How do you like this combination? Do you have any before and after photos? Do you have any measurements from the arches to the ground and gap between tires and arches? What differential gear are you running? A lot of questions but I am considering this change versus 20"s and 305 X 35 tires. I would appreciate any information that you are willing to provide.

Here's a picture of my father-in-laws 99. He has the So Cal lowering kit, I think it's a perfect ride height.

Hey Red,
The heighths to the archs:
37 1/2" front
32 1/2" rear
Gap between fender & tire:
1 1/4" front
2 1/4" rear
Still has a slight rake.
I changed the rearend to a 4.10 gear. With the additional height of the tires, it nets out to about 3.73, which I like.
I have carried small loads (wet mulch) 400lbs. in the rear......no problem.
The front tires rubbed once, very slightly, going around a tight corner and hitting a large hole, yes it did scare the sh*t out of me, but no damage whatsoever. As a matter of fact, I couldn't even find where it touched.
I really like the way the tires fill up the wheel well, and I doubt the ride is any different than any other lowered truck with the standard tires.
One note: I do have to run the rears at about 26lbs of air pressure or it gets a little too bouncy, but what the heck, I get better traction and have not seen any undue tire wear.
No pics yet....haven't figured out how to do it yet.
