Superchips

So I've found out that my truck has a superchip "flip chip" Installed by the previous owner. I bought this truck from a dealer and have no idea who the original owner is. I contacted superchps and they told me that all these chips are blank and are then custom burt but there was no way he could tell me what my chip was burt for...

I'm at a loss and I want to know the deal on this chip. Is there anybody else out there running one of these??

Guess you could get a datalogger and see what your timing is at and goto a dyno to see what the a/f is running at....
Or track down the previous owner!

pull the chip and look for a program tag or some ID, most tuners identify them.

I am actually surprised the dealer sold the truck with the chip still in it. Are there other mods on the truck? Did the truck come with any kind of dealer warranty? Ford dealers have been known to void warranties over a chip.

It did come with a 2 month 2,000 mile waranty with the option to purchase an extended waranty. As far as I know thats the only mod to the truck... I purchased it from a licensed Saleen dealer, so they are familiar with performance vehicles. They got a lightning on the lot two days after I got mine, an '04 sonic (or true) blue that had a snow performance methanol injection...

I guess I'm really old school here. I am probably one of the few people here that is still actually using one of the old JDM Blue Superchips. The truck runs great and I haven't done any mods in some time. I already have most of the bolt ons and I like my block to stay unvented. Usually like someone else mentioned there might be a tuner's code on the chip itself. That may give you a clue as to who did the programs.
