Anyone ever replace door glass or regulator???

Anyone ever replace door glass or regulator???
Not sure how our trucks are setup, never had it apart. Hoever i did replace a regulator on my 01 focus today and aged 10 years.
The window kept falling down. Took the door apart and it has a motor and slide assembly that's run by a cable. The cable was all undone and there was a round plastic clip in the bottom of the door. I then noticed there are 3 plastic tabs on the slide assembly that were broke. Cheap crap basically and you have to buy the whole thing.
So I order the regulator and put it in today. Now i'm trying to figure out how the hell to attach the glass??? There is a whole the size of a nickle in the glass. There is a plastic assembly that the glass slides into that has the same whole. There is a round plastic bushing with a smaller one. The idea is you put the big one in that holds the glass to the carrier, then you push the smaller one into the bigger one which makes it expand, keeping it tight.
That's great, but how the hell do you do it in the friggen door!!!
I spent 2 hours trying to figure this out and i gave up. It's impossible!!!! I set the glass into the carrier and rolled the window up and told my girl to don't touch it.
So i just spent 2 hours online searching how the hell to do this. Now it's become a mission. Finally I figured it out!!!!!.
You take the glass out (which i did at one point), and you put the spacer in the glass then put the smaller one in to expand it.
THEN, you push it down into the carrier and apparently the carrier spreads aparts and it clips in!!!
