Smile A Public Service

Went to N. Carolina on a business trip and noticed a fellow L owner in the same parking lot. We spoke for awhile and began comparing trucks, his was a 00 mine is a 99. Looking over his vehicle I pointed out that his intercooler fluid level was down. I then had to enlighten him on intercooler leaks, closed systems, and how many other owners had this same problem. I also noticed his left/front tire was almost bald. He told me the dealer had realigned it twice. I had to show him how his washer had moved and described his "clunk" to him. He also had no idea who PSP, JDM, or any other prominent L vendor was. I also told him about this site and the FAQ.... tsk,tsk,tsk,....kids.
We need to get out there guys.

I am a copier tech so I will keep the copier running so we can get the flyers printed. If we could get the dealers involved it would be great, but they would not like that because this is where we talk about their screw ups...

Anyone got some loudspeakers? If not we can takeover a radio station and spread the word.

Next time I fly I mission I can dump the flyers out of the outflow valve of one of our C-5s, We could at least get most of the northeast I just had a similar experience, I was sitting in my home office doing some paperwork and I heard an L. I looked up and a black L with blue flames an ARE cover came by (I live on a dead end road in a new subdivision). I jumped in the car and went and talked to the guy. I did the same thing, talked about the intercooler leak, clunk and chips etc. He too did not know about this awesome site. His L has an air leak around his back window, I never heard of that on a Lightning before

When I had my R/T and was a member of the Registry, we used to carry a flyer in the glove box that told about the site. If we were to spot an R/T, we would stick a flyer on the wiper. Maybe some similar to this can be done if no one is around to talk to.

Galaxy's got the East coast covered, I can donate the services of my DC-3...

Someone with more knowledge than me (much more in fact) might want to write up a brief document on this stuff and some URL's. Hopefully in MS word format, then email it out and we'll start our own little rascal's diabolical plan to get our way with Ford.

That is a great idea! I go to lots of car shows, cruise ins etc. Anybody have any desk top publishing abilities? So many uninformed L owners, so little time

This would be great Psyop campaign. Not only do our trucks win the street wars, we will now dominate the information war.

Talking

I love some of these proposals- leaflets, hah hah hah. However if anyone is even semi-serious about spreading the word they must realize that pinpoint targeting is more economical and efficient than carpet bombing. Ford obviously has contact info for all Lightning buyers. Somebody like NLOC might be able to talk them out of the list, and then send a mailer touting the benefits of membership (whatever they might be?) and including info about this site and SVT Performance. They would be doing a public service, and might even make some money off it (does anyone do anything without considering whether they can make some money off it)?
