Need help on installing Lighted Ford Logo
Please forgive my automotive (& general for that matter) electronic ignorance.
OK, I've got the Logo in place. Now I need to splice into the lighting?!?! Having never done much splicing, is there an easy way to do this? I think I have a good mounting spot for the other wire that goes to the frame of the truck. Just need some help splicing this together.
Thanks!

Just installed mine last weekend. The front one, I pulled off the upper grille sight shield, left headlight out and side marker lens. Using a test light I located the ground and hot wire to the side marker (the third wire will be the turn signal). I stripped ½” of insulation off each wire and soldered the emblem wires on (you can use quick connectors too). Taped up the wires reinstalled parts.
On the rear, I drilled a hole large enough for the plug to fit thru on the bottom of the tailgate, just below the emblem. Then drilled one in the rear sill panel of the bed, approx. 2” to the right of the one on the gate, level with the hole that is already in the rear sill panel. After using some rust proofer on the holes I uses a piece of plastic wire loom to protect the wires between gate and bed. After removing the right tail light I used a test light to locate the correct wires again the same as front. Stuck the transformer to the inside of the fender above the taillight. I left access to the plug connector under the bed. And made a loop I can access through the hood latch hole for the front one. I don’t know if the cops will hassle me about them?
In hind site I put a small roll of 2” tape in the truck to cover the emblems if I ever get hassled.
The look great!

Welcome.... Glad to see there are some 2001's hitting the streets. With your permission I will take a few pictures to post.
I am a computer expert - Not a mechanic or electrician. But I would consider "Helping" you install them if you commit to 50% participation. Mine have been installed for 9 or more months and are working fine.
The cost would be a Case of Labbats Blue Canadian Beer and a significant contribution to my web site. ( A new How To or other content )
Send me an email for more detailed info.

They make electrical connectors to do just what you want to do. You should be able to get them in any good hardware store. You won't have to cut any wires and they work fine. Just lay the original wire and the new wire side by side on the connector and snap it shut. There is "teeth" in the connector that makes the electrical connection. Best part is you don't have to cut any original wiring on your truck. Hope this helps.
