Question Plastic caps for fog lights

When I picked up my truck yesterday, the dealer said I should look into getting some plastic caps for the fog lamps because they break very easily. Any advice?

That has hopefully been fixed on the '01's. Shouldn't be a need. (I hope!!??)

Try stongard.com they have covers for headlights and fog lights as well as for the nose of the truck to protect it from rocks and such.

Do a fog lamp search and get all the info. Basicly they are worthless. They don't put out much additional light to be of any value. They bust from the heat when they get water on them. They bust from rocks. They bust from heat with protective covers on them and they melt the covers. Best senerio. Put covers on them and NEVER turn them on.

Question

Sparky, are you using stongard on your fog lamps? $20 seems like cheap insurance, if it in fact works.

I entered the Hella #65071 I think. it's a 4.5" round just like ours. I think i'll also be ordering the stonegard too. I am waiting for an e-mail from them on thier recommended part # for our application. 56.00 was better than 120.00. I got a price on the '01 headlights the other day from a dealer, 125 each, FYI.

My cost from a dealership was about $54.00. I ordered an aftermarket from a Mustang web site. I think their number was 1-800-MUSTANG. You can also order one from Pep Boys.

The Stongard product has worked really well for me. I have not cracked a lense since installing the covers over a year ago. I use my foglights all time (a little nightblind), even in the rain and they work great.

If I remember correctly, the price for the whole kit: headlights, corners, and foglights is about $80. IMHO they are worth the price.

www.stongard.com look for Stongard Lite.

Hope this helps!

Thumbs up

To confirm the $80, I just ordered a set for the headlights/turn signals ($59) and Fog lamps for $(19).
