Question Grinding brake calipers to fit 15X10 Bogarts

I've been doing some searching on this subject and have found some good info. I'm getting ready to fit my Bogarts and this will require me to grind down my brake calipers. I've read about a few different methods and I just wanted to get some current opinions on the best way to do this. I've heard that an angle-grinder would work good. I've also heard something about JDM using a method of removing some of the brake rotor and then relocating the caliper bracket further down to make room for the rims. What do you guys think?

I hope you get some good feedback. I am curious too and will be doing the same thing this winter and hope to just grind down the ears on the caliper......I sure as heck dont want to trim down the rotor and relocate the caliper. I hoped this would be fairly simple....is anything?

Aparantly Ronnie had some kind of special thing done to his brakes at AVT in Myrtle Beach. I'm pretty close to AVT so maybe I'll drive up there and let Arthur work his magic on my brakes. Either that or maybe I'll buy the Aerospace rear brake kit a fellow NLOC member is trying to sell me....

This is how JDM did mine

For my rims we had to do a lot of modification.

take the brakes off

remove rear diferential cover

remove axles

take calper bracket off and modify it so it can move inward

replace bracket

reinstall axles, giferential cover, refill gear lube

Put the rotor on a lathe and cut rotor about 1/4 inch

Make extension brakets for parking brake cable so wheel won't rub on cable
(depneding on your offset, you may or may not have to do this) I run a deeper offset wheel, so I had to do it.

modify brake pads, to fit the cut down rotor.
(just take a grinder and remove just enough so it clears the hub area)

reinstall brakes

We still had to very lightlly grind calliper to clear the wheel

Paint caliper

your done.
