Post Computer problems

Hello all..

A friend of mine is having trouble with his 99 L.. He has a JL Chip and one of Sal's 4 way chips.. When he puts the JL chip in the truck.. it will not start.. the contacts are clean on the computer.. the chip is in right.. and still no luck.. The overdrive light comes on and the odometer shows lines across it..

When he puts in Sal's chip.. the truck starts.. but only on three of the positions.. when it is put in the fourth position ( race position ) it does the same thing.. No start, lines acorss odometer..

Any ideas what this could be ?

Much thanks..

Question

Did he take it in for service recently ?
The computer might have been updated. Check the code sticker. If so, he needs a reburn on the chips as well.

It could be possible that not all the contacts are making good contact, on the chip itself. They may have widened out some....not tight enough....???

I had a flip- chip from Steeda when they first came out. It had different connections on the chip and it ate threw the connections of the computer. I had to take the computer to a local electronics shop to have them build the solder up. Less than 1/64th I haven't had a problem since.
