Just curious. For all you new 01 Lightning owners does the extra 20hp make that much difference??

Any 01's running around the Tampa Bay area yet?

Is everyone happy with their new purchases?

 

They are slower than Red 00's saw tests in several mags. Don't be fooled by cheap imitations.

 

Fast enough to smoke a V-8(V-12?) 95(?) Mercedes. Always great getting a thumbs up and "damn that truck is quick" from someone who paid more. Of course my favorite is, and this is no lie, because I heard it last night, "If my kids weren't in the truck, I'd show you something 'fast'" Hahah!!! If his kids weren't in the truck, he wouldn't had tried racing me in the first place!!! And to top it off, they are fast enough to smoke a brand new Prowler DAMN I love this truck!! Oh and btw, don't listen to KGM, he's just jealous because he picked the SECOND fastest color. We ALL know that BLACK is the fastest color among the Lightnings.

I got on it from a light the other day and a Mercedes behind me kept right up. It was a new 2000 or 2001 S500. They put out about 305 hp and weigh about 4000 lb. In a Road & Track Test they are listed at 14.4 in the 1/4, kind of the same as the lightning. It seems that both vehicles are under rated and have about the same quickness stock for stock from a rolling start. I think from a dead stop the L would have a slight advantage to 60 feet. Bottom line, those new sleads are quick!
