Exclamation Instrument Cluster

Just finished putting my instrument cluster back together after installing a few goodies in it,and guess what, there are no Illum lites just a strip of something that goes around all the guages! Does any one know what it is I know what it is not and that is a neon style illum. The only bulbs in the cluster are for the warning lite.Just FYI.

Well, I knew it was electroluminescent, but I wasn't really sure what that meant. This makes me very happy to know I don't have to tear the dash apart to replace bulbs.

Ruslow: I was going to reply earlier on your interior disassembly, but didn't have the time. You've got a bigger set of 'nads than me. I usually will jump right in on something, but dashboards can be a real pain in the rear, because usually something breaks (at least for me) in the process. You get a big thumbs up for diving in!!

Really??

I would have been much happier replacing a bulb than driving for two months in the dark waiting for the dealer to obtain and install the ENTIRE instrument cluster!
