Possibly Looking at a Lightning This weekend...

Hello,

I guess I'll introduce myself first. I'm on multiple car forums using the same name (91LSMAN). We've currently got 5 cars.

Mom's -Acura RL
Dad's-98 Corvette, 04 350z
Mine-91 Acura Legend Coupe
Brother's-94 Acura Legend Coupe

The 350z is Dad's daily driver, and he likes it, but the seats are very stiff and don't agree with his back. He was trying to think of something to buy that would be fun and sporty, provide some utility, and be more comfortable for his back, so he started looking at a few things and the lightnings caught his eye.

Here is the one we are looking at this weekend...

http://www.parkplaceltd.com/vehicle....rent=1&size=50

Question: I was doing some searching-did any of the lightnings come with the Harley Davidson package from the factory? I couldn't find if they did or not. In the descrption they make this one sound custom and unique. My dad didn't actually plan to buy anything right now, but they recently dropped the price of this truck.

Any thoughts?

Thanks-that's what I thought. From what I can tell, they did a nice job.

as already pointed out the Gen 2 Lightning: first released in 1999 as supercharged ONLY (2-door, stepside) is different from the HD F-150: first released in 2000 (crew cab in '00 and 4-door supercrew from 2001-2003) and was not supercharged till '02-'03.

The owner sure did sink a lot of cash to add HD touches: 2-tone seats, '03 fender/tailgate badge, HD rims (not production style)

they dont make HD lightning trucks. i dont know why you would want to do it anyways. i mean it looks good and everything but if you had a lightning you would want people to know that you have a lightning.

I totally understand your point, but my dad does not really care what other people think. He wants a nice daily driver, with some power to have fun with. He does not really care that it has a HD "package." He likes the color, wheels and grille I believe.

Thank You For All of your opinions. They are much appreciated.

Any opinions on that price? They had it higher, but recently lowered it.

those aren't even harley truck wheels, but it is an interesting combination and it is not something most people would do to a lightning,

here is the basic carfax 16 records, wowee but the vin does come back as a 2003 lightning.

Noticed that too, those are offered in the Ford Motorsport catalog as a HD wheel though. Thats the first time I've seen them being used.

Ahhh, good to know.

We have an appointment to see the truck at 8:00 tomorrow morning. Normally they have a meeting from 8:30-9:30 and make appointments after that, but my dad said, "If you want to sell a truck, you'll have someone there at 8:00." My dad is an ***.

No such thing as a HD Lightning, they are 2 different, but similar trucks.
The HD's were supercharged for the 02-03 model years and came with a crew cab. The only difference between them and a Lightning being pullied for less boost than a L and they had a different tune. If your father doesn't care I would go for a HD. The family would get use of the crew cab as well as having similar power to an L. They can be modified the same as well. I'm not sure about the HD seats but the one's in my Lightning I consider comfortable.
