Thumbs down Rotorpros Rotors

Just wanted to share my experience with Rotorpros. I have their drilled and slotted rotors and recently noticed cracks developing around the drill holes. The rotors have been on the truck for only a year and they have less than 8K miles on them! Needless to say I'm pretty upset with the qaulity. I contacted the company and they said all they can do is replace them at discount ($10 off). He said "we only offer a 6 month warranty, it dosen't matter how many miles are on them". I said "Fine, your policy is your policy. I'll be sure to pass my experience on to the Lightning community".

Crap with a smile, gotta love it.

I've had my Rotorpros dimpled and slotted for about 3yrs now and about 18k without a single problem.....maybe you just got a bad batch ??

I've always heard that drilled rotors tend to crack, no matter who makes them.

I too opted for the dimpled / slotted discs from Rotorpros - so far, no problems (30,000+ miles).

I have not had a problem with mine yet. Ohh thats probally becuase I have not drove the truck yet.... If they last 8k miles that will last me about 8 years, so thats ok.

Rotor Pros

Had a set on my truck, and a major crack after about 5k. Put Baer' s on and no problems after about 15k so far.

Ive heard the same. Most say stay away from the drilled and go with dimpled because the drilled are just a cast normal rotor with just that, drills.

After 90k miles on the clock, four sets of rotors and pads….

I started with the original pads, then when on to the metallic, evolved on to the ceramic, and now I’m currently running the Kevlar.

As far as the rotors, oem replacement, slotted replacement, and now slotted and dimpled!

Conclusion….. Dam I got to quit going WOT and then slamming on the brakes during the Houston rush hour!!!!!!!

Every rotor had discoloration and heat cracks… One thing I did learn, when doing a hard stop. Is to try to attempt to stop at least 6 to 8 feet from the car in front of you, when you finally come to a stop, let loose the brakes and move about a foot, and repeat the process until you have used all the extra space….

This one habit (for those hard driving and hard braking loonies) will cool your pads and rotors, and will eliminate hot spots. When you stop and do not move the “pads are heat soaked” and that heat is transmitted right in to your rotor, that induces warping, discoloration and finally cheat cracks!!!!

For everybody else (the grandmas) OEM rotors and pads are the way to go,!
(This is only my opinion, so burn on!!!!)

i broke a rotor pro rotor in 13 days. cracked al the way through, on a smoth part of the rotor. i ordered the slotted ones, and it cracked between the slots. they are thin pieces of junk. i would not use them on anything but maybe a show truck that doesn't use the brakes

all well and good BUT what is the price differential? IIRC Rotos come in about 1/4 the cost of BAERs now if you don't do a whole heap of miles......

maybe true but...............

What is your life worth?many of you spend thousands on going faster and quicker but have no brain when it comes to being able to stop the truck!Spend the $ for the bigger and better brakes and be done with it.Also looking at a 20 or 22 inch wheel with stock size brakes is kinda stupid looking.Stan

A couple bucks shy of 6 grand, but well worth it in my opinion if you plan on some fun at the racetrack. These are wayy overkill on the street, but then again they have saved my a$$ on numerous occasions.

I agree with the statement,"Big Rim's & stock size Brake's equal's STUPID LOOKING",not to mention VERY UNSAFE!!! I never understood people spending Big $$$ on Huge Rim's,and then you see stock size Rotor's!! Just like i've alway's said, just because you have $$,doesn't mean you have brain's!
