Hi Peter,
Just wandering what you think of the Arizona track and how often you go there. I am asking as the local track here in Albuquerque has been closed down. Don't know when or if it will re-open. I was thinking of driving down sometime. Maybewe could hook up at the track. As I am sure you know it is a pretty good drive there and back. Do you know of any other tracks that are closer to Albuquerque?

I have been to both tracks in the Phoenix area.
Firebird Raceway is typically open on Friday nights for the run what you brung. Except on NHRA event nights or other events. The problem with Firebird is that there is an extremely high number of cars on any given Friday. If you get there by 6:00 pm and stay till midnight, you can only get 2 to 4 runs in for the whole night.
Speedworld is the track that several of us have now been attending on Wednesday nights. In the recent trips I have made 14 runs one night in an hour and a half and the next time 19 runs in 2 hours. The track is not as nice as Firebird, but I'm not there for the scenery of the track. On the nights I went I could easily made alot more runs for the night if I wasn't cooling down and BSing between runs.
Wow, that would be quite a heck of a drive out. I do not know of any other tracks between Phoenix and Albuquerque. We could definitely hook up though if you came down. I'm sure you could hook up with Yoda, modd69, JoeLightning, XCheyennesuper and possibly some of the newest Lightning members.

Sounds good, Would be cool to have four or five L's at the track at once. That alone would make the drive woth while.
I was thinking of going to Sedona sometime in the next few months. That would be the ideal time to make the trip to Phoenix.
