Question Will Intercooler leak contaminate catalytic converters?

Does anybody have any first hand experience on this, or any reliable information?

Have any of you who have had the leak, and not replaced the converters, and been emissions tested?

I don't have the leak (at least not yet on my '99), but just curious because we have State vehicle emissions tests every two years, and I am due in August '01.

Cool

My engine was replaced due to the infamous leak. Also the cats and O2 sensors. Yes coolant will contaminate a catalyst. I would have raise hell if they said no new cats.

Twisted, that is exactly what I wanted to hear about. Thanks.

Looks like a pretty expensive fix for Ford. Someone mentioned the Ford retail price for the converters was about $1000.00 each. Plus the engine and all the rest. Ford had better get a recall fix out soon.
