Nitrogen Assisted Nitrous Oxide (NANO)

During my vast research while installing my nitrous system I came across this and thought maybe some of you nitrous guys might be interested...Anyone ever heard of NANO? It stands for Nitrogen Assisted Nitrous Oxide. I was reading about it in the latest copy of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords. Supposedly it's a lot better than using a heater. Check out their website and let me know what you think...

NANO - Nano is nitrous on steroids

ha......

so what exactly is this product doing? Is it hooked to the nitrous bottle as an imput to pressurize the nitrous bottle?

Wouldn't that be diluting the no2?

Got me. I'd drather use a bottle heater and call it a day. I have the battery charger running between passes for the efan and pump anyway, so not like that's an issue.

I get about 4 passes out of a 10# bottle with a 175 shot on my mustang. There is still plenty left but i like to play it safe. Pressure still stays up after the 4th pass.

Not sure I'd want to be dealing with another whole bottle of gas on the car.

The idea makes sense and technology can always be improved upon.

I agree with you. I was just posting this for FYI. From what I understand it's just a tank of compressed air that pressurizes the nitrous bottle and eliminates the need for a heater to get the pressures up. It instantly get's the pressure to the sweet spot instead of waiting on a heater to gradually get it there. Sounds pretty convenient to re-fill the bottle too. It says you can re-fill it at a paint-ball shop or a fire station. If I get serious about drag racing in the future I may look into getting one of their bottles to hook-up to my NX bottle.

I like the idea of being able to use the entire tank of n20 instead of only 1/3
or so, but all u need to do is put your heater on while your driving to the track, once you get it up to temp it's very easy to maintain after that.
I was very surprised to see my NX heater does not have a thermostat (I think) where as the Zex Heater I used on the last two kits I had on my L's were thermostatic operated, set it and forget it.....

Personally I feel 4 runs on a tank is enough between top off's, and anyway I read that page I feel you still need to maintain proper temp and pressure in your tank reguardless, BUT for those spraying at a 3 day event it really would make sense rather than having to bring extra bottles

Good Find T , intersting, very interesting...

I'm pretty sure the regular NX heaters have a transducer that reads pressure and tells the heater when to turn on. The NX Fire & Ice has a similar set-up only it doesn't have as many wires to hook-up and it has a fan.

I'll have to check into that T, but it does seem that it DOESNT turn off by itself, where as the Zex Heater turns ON and OFF all by it's wittle self, maintaining the oh so perfect temp and pressure

The Fire and Ice set up is the correct way to do it, I told you about blowing lines on my 02 when a tank of mine built up too much pressure without the use of any heater. Black Truck, Black Bed Cover, Black Tank, and well over 100 degrees DOES NOT go well together..... (now I have a White Tank and only put the tank in the bed when it's time)

I have talked to those guys up there. The system sounds really good actually. The nano tank does not turn off by itself because your pressure is instantly there and stays @ 1050psi so you just turn on/off when your done racing just like the nos bottle. The nano bottle stores 4500psi of compressed air and is regulated to 1050 static pressure and and 975psi solenoids open. My freind has this system on his mark 8 and has very good luck with it. Especially for back to back street racing there is no waiting around and since it uses the whole bottle it lasts forever it seems like. His mark 8 went from a 13.08 w1.9 60 foot to a 12.83 with a 2.2 60 foot with the nano and hes only got a 100 shot.

Seems like a very good system. Sure the heaters will "work" but this is a no fuss no muss system that will easily lock in your Nitrous pressure.

And it also seems very inexpensive to maintain.
