Have a clunking noise in the lower control arm? I have the fix! (Pictures!)

I have to ask--since I'm still learning about the truck---In your replies you ask "You guys do know that, that the slot is there for a reason, right?" and "but do you what this bolt sets? Care to guess?" . In an effort to learn more, is there something you could share some info on? Is there something more to the story? Thanks for any add'l info you can give.

You Say.... The Ford Fix has been working on my truck for about 6 months.
Exactly which "Ford Fix" did you get? Depending on which Ford approved SVT dealership you take your Lightning to the "Ford Fix" is:
1) Two gorillas with breaker bars.
2) New lower control arms.
3) Weld the bolt to the frame.
4) Reinstall bolt with common lock washers.
5) Reinstall bolt with star washers.
6) Reinstall bolt with newly designed washers with teeth.
I'm sure I left out a few official "Ford Fixes". Maybe your fix could be added to the list....
For me, these slot filling washers make more sense than ANY of the above. With the exception of fix #3 above (which seems like a Farmer Fix to me) all of the Ford fixes have been failing to keep the bolt from moving over time. I personally would rather have the bolt planted solidly in the center of the slot than have it sliding back and forth at will.

OK SilverBullet
I give up,
I can't possibly guess why ford would want the "clunk fix" to maintain adjustability.
Could you please enlighten us all?
Lets pretend that we are all good little
boys and girls and we install the cam bolts and cam plates on our upper control arms and make them fully adjustable.(wich ford stopped istalling some time ago, saving millions no doubt)
Then do we still have to maintain adjustability on the lower control arm? If so WHY?
Thank You for your reply

HJ, I received the washers today. Very nice quality! I have taken the truck to dealership several times for this problem already, every time a different "fix." I was getting very frustrated. Thanks!

I had my truck at the dealers this Wednesday.Front end man told me that those slots on the lower control arm are for factory adjustments only .He said that all work after that is down with cam kits that he installs when he does a front end aliment, that you have to buy I showed him the pictures of the washers and he said that was alot better than Fords "star washer fix"that is what they did for me .I plan on ordering a set.
