How much power is lost running with a empty inner cooler?
I have not been able to run with my chip since it (the inner cooler) went dry two times and I left it that way (pings in all weather conditions, not just on dry days with high pressure). Now Sal has it for a reburn, but will I still have a problem with the cooler dry? Truck seams slow. Is it just missing the chip, (because I was used to running with it) or does the cooler help that much? Any Ideas?

Jerry,
Collin had the same problem with an intercooler leak. He sent his chip back for the new R9 program (at the time) and still had ping when he got it back. Well, he got his intercooler fixed but had his switch set to stock because he was afraid of pinging at the track. Once he told the story I talked him into flipping the switch because I suspected the intercooler was his problem. Needless to say it ran faster with no pinging. So, to answer your question yes it's worth HP (don't know how much for sure) and if your trying to use a chip it's probably going to ping. I hope this helps.

Theoretically speaking you'll lose ~10-11% of your horsepower without the I/C.
Removing the chip and running the I/C dry would definitely be noticeable.
The pinging is probably because the motor doesn't like the 180-200 deg air coming out of the supercharger.
How fast is the water leaking that you dont want to fill it up? Sounds serious.

If you're going to continue to run your intercooler dry, I'd suggest disconnecting the pump, too, or your motor may soon be making expensive noises. I've elected to run distilled water with some water pump lubricant in mine. I don't know how cold it gets in Georgetown, but if you go this route you might want to add some alcohol, too.

Thank you all for the info.
Alpha, it does get cold enough here to freeze (once in a while).
I'm going to go show the dealer, just to get the problem on record (I want to wait for a better fix),then I'm going to try what Sprio and Johnny Lightning did with the Barrs leak.
