i have seen pics of yellow L's but havent found anything on the production. are these trucks just custom painted or did ford actually produce some of these? thanks

***tyring to decide between a Lightning or a WS-6***

 

Ford made one or two of them to see what they look like when they where decideing on another color for 2000. silver won the contest of the two colors and was voted in, why I have no Idea. I want to get mine painted yellow next year possibly.

From what was posted before here: there were 4 guys, that work at the Lightning plant in Canada, that bought their Lightnings and brought the yellow paint in for them to paint theirs. There were pictures a while back on this.

I think before I would paint mine yellow I'd go with the NEW PPG MYSTIC colors (6) that they just came out with for about $450.00 a gallon as apposed to $1000.00-$1200.00 a gallon.

From my knowledge, two were made (one being in California). Both were made as promotional colors. Ford would ship the a yellow and a silver around to car shows and events, and basically recored and tallied the auidences opinions on it. More liked Silver, and that's why no Yellows have been made as of yet. And also I believe a big reason is, b/c there are so many different shades of yellow,and it takes more than 2 coats of paint to get the yellow to stick, and look good. ALthough, a Gen2 L with Chrome Yellow paint would look awesome.

Yellow is the color of FAST! Thats why I bought a yellow truck, and boy does it get some looks, the girls love it

 

You get looks becuase, everybody is thinking, nobody in their right mind would buy an R/T!! :sarcastic: I guess you're too "fast" to notice them pointing and laughing while they give you those looks.

I never said that headers were gonna give 200 hp, i'm just sayin, all you L guys talk about how R/T's hav no ***** an they're all slow, you gotta adit, 13.8 aint bad for a R/T, wait till I get it blown :-)
