Fuel rail set-up question

Fuel rail set-up question

Let me run this by you.... Let me start off by giving you a run-down of what I have for those of you that don't know. I've got the Aeromotive fuel rail kit which consists of the rails, an A1000 fuel pressure regulator, -8AN lines and adapters for the stock line. I don't have stock lines anymore, but that's neither here nor there. This is the way the rails are set-up right now. The feed line from the tank has an adapter on it that splits from one line into two. Those two lines go to the front of the rails. One to each. Then there are lines that come out the back of the rails and go to either side of the regulator. And the regulator has a -6AN return line that comes out the bottom and connects to the return line that goes back to the tank. I'm relocating my FPR and wanted to know if I could set it up like this...

Instead of the feed line from the tank splitting into two lines and going to the front of the rails, I want to connect the feed line to the rear of the drivers side fuel rail. Then have a hose connecting the two fuel rails together in the front of each. Then have a hose connected to the rear of the passenger side rail and going to one side of the fuel pressure regulator. I would then plug or cap off the other side of the fuel pressure regulator and have the return line hooked up the way it previously was.

Does that sound like it would work or do these rails have to be hooked-up the way I described at the top???

That sounds better than what you have now.

I am in the process of deciding what I am going to do with my fuel system. I have a set of 97 F150 fuel rails with a adjustable fuel pressure regulator, so mine will be just a little different from yours.

If I were you I would do something like this

-6AN lines off the tank going to a fuel filter with two inlets(Mallory 3160)
Then if you want to go -8AN off the filter I guess that would be OK, but I still think 6AN is enough.

Then like you said the feed line goes into the rear of the back of the drivers side fuel rail. A line in front conecting the fuel rails, and the return comming off the rear of the passenger fuel rail.

I am not really familliar with the Aeromotive fuel rails, so I am not sure is what side to run the regulator, but I think you put it on the passenger side.

This is what I am thinking you should do. Guys chime in and let me know if what I am thinking would be right for him.

The stock aeromotive setup (with the splits like you currently have it) can supply more even pressure to all of the injectors than a single loop. That being said it doesn't make a big difference and if you want to get rid of some lines in the engine bay, go ahead.

That's the way mine currently is. I think I'll just leave it that way for now. It would be easy to rearrange it later if I wanted to.
