Life is good!!!!!Went to dealer tonight and picked up my beautiful Black 2001. I do want to thank whom ever gave the heads up on checking the under side of front bumper, there were minor scraches that had to be corrected, But all in all the truck is beautiful.The weather here is raining hard but was afraid to leave it at the dealer. I just spent two hours drying every inch. Now let the mods begin! I think the single valve throttle body, followed by chip when they are ready.

[I dont blame you for not leaving it at the dealer.It seems like they go out of there way to scratch or bang it up or get grease every where. When I take mine in for serviceI stand right there until the work is done. Any ways enjoy your new 2001.

 

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I will do my best to answer the questions as best as I can.
They were able to buff out scratches,under the bumper as well as on the top of both front fenders near windshield. Looked as if a gear had been rolled down the top of fender.
Rain was very heavy, so I felt it was best not to test the performance. I will say that the 2001 rides much better than the 2- 2000's that I test drove. The lights both front and rear look great.
Tires handled well in the rain but it was my first time behind the wheel and didn't want to push my luck. Once things dry up I will test lauchability.
I am tring to get pictures but my sister has my camera, then I will have to learn how to post them.
I feel my wallet twitching!!!
First purchase will be A.R.E. LS II and Bed Rug. How do you order bed rug for tonneau cover?

Toyman, may I use that picture? I like it alot. Also, just to let ya know, the 01's use CNX-1. And yes, they are chippable (sp?). And just a little story...I'm a young guy. 19, and when I asked the dealer how much is the 01 Lightning, he kinda gave me the look like, "you sure you can afford it?". Constantly through talking with him, he kept asking me how much I'm going to put down, and if I can do it, and blah blah blah. So yesterday I went up there with two of my friends/mechanics, and I was talking to the dealer, as the crawled all through the truck looking for scratchs, rust, whatever. They were under, over, inside and out of it. And just as I was about to leave, he asked me again, how much I was going to put on it. I told him I don't know. So while he was gone, I pulled the tailgate down, and pulled out a handfull of $100's, and started counting them on the tailgate. $6000 dollars worth...damn, were everybodys eyes on me.. When he came back, he had this huge smile..and I quickly pulled it up, put it in my wallet, and said, "ok, thank you, I'll be in touch with you," and walked out. I felt like a big dog...my friends were laughing their asses off all the way home, I guess I didn't notice that there were atleast 4 other people watching me count the money, including 3 salesmen, and a porter. hah..most fun ever!

I also will be getting my new one; tomorrow at 9:15am. It will be sad to loose the '99 but had to have the updates and need to keep the miles down this time(33k) in a year and a half so will also be getting a ZX3 next month, so things are looking good if only the weather would be so kind.
