BIG thanks to PITSTAIN!!!
BIG thanks to PITSTAIN!!!
yesterday Ian Pitstain came over to my house to help me install my new custom dual fan setup.. about a week ago my old style JDM fan crapped out on me, i purchased it used off an NLOC member and got about two years of use out of it.. anyway, i needed to get my truck back on the road, Ian and I did some homework and after some searching I decided to go to Summit Racing and order TWO 16" DERALE fans, over nighted to me it was under $300!! now for the controlers, for now Ian gave me 2 Troyer controlers to use for the setup. the setup is running flawless and pushes alot of air to cool the beast.. the best part about the new setup is i have ALOT of room to work between the fans and the front of the engine now.. you may ask well without the factory shroud how did I retain the intercooler resevoir, i cut with Dremel the factory shroud where it would bolt to, i then put a nut and bolt through an existing hole on the top of the radiator "after drilling a hole in the top of the shroud" it is very secure and does not budge at all. here are a couple of pics took with my camera phone.. enjoy..

no I have not got it done yet. i am having major issues with my boat motor build and that is consuming all my free time. I have another car to drive so the lightning is not my priority. too much money into the boat and not enough summer left, have to get that running first!!!

i did the exact same setup on my old 4.2 extended cab... Does the thing vibrate the whole truck? mine did... it gets annoying after a while... I had every rubber gromet in the world, and could not get it to be too shaky...
