Cool Intercooler fixed

Got my truck back last night from the dealer w/new intercooler. The service writer told me that this is the new style intercooler and I should never have the problem again.

#on replacement i/c..XL3Z*6K775*AA

I, of course, do not believe him, if only because I think the factory keeps these boys in the dark and feeds them sh*t.

Anybody know if this is the new or old style?

Added bonus.....the miss is gone! (I did have them install the NGK plugs during the change.)

Now, back to more new mods..........

Sorry to disillusion you, Tim. You had me all excited there for a minute, because that is the same p/n that my dealer ordered, and it came in last week. So I called SVT to see whether this was the new and improved i/c, and they told me no, the fix would not be available until sometime this spring, and they did not have a p/n for it yet.

Question

TimBurntire, a different thread but reading your post reminded about your So-Cal drop kit? How did it turn out and can you post photos of the results?

Still haven't got that done yet. Truck was at the dealer for 11 days. Will probably do it next week.

My I/C was just replaced and I have the same part number (xl3z-6k775-aa).
I was told that it was the new fixed I/C part. I might hafta do some a little snooping.

Does anyone know if the improved intercooler is the one on the 01 Lightnings?

Yes. I know. Its not. The '01 had a different lower intake manifold. The i/c for the '01 will not fit on the '99 and '00, and vice versa.
