Question Scanner

Does anyone know of a good quality scanner for all american makes? I'm looking to purchase one, but I don't want a cheap blinking light scanner. I'm looking for something that will give voltages and resistance readings as well as transmission data.

Dreamin,

No, I don't think it's overkill. Being able to see what the sensors are doing could save big $$ when it goes out of warranty, especially if you've got a minor problem that the dealer tries to make big and costly.
