Thumbs up L vs. C5 on LS1.COM

Boys, it seems the Lightning is worrying alot of LS1 owners. Its good to see Ford "striking" fear into gm's "sport" cars! Especially in a damn TRUCK! Go to LS1.COM and check it out. As much as the chevy guys dont want to admit it, the Lightning has earned their respect and their @$$ does pucker when they see you roll up on them!!

Skank Dog,
I agree it is funny that they have to give respect to Ford for building the Lightning. The funny thing is alot of guys like the truck, even respect it. Then their are alot that are mad because they bought a "sports car" and a truck is smoking them. I was surfing LS1 yesterday and something funny happened. Their was a post entitles "2001 Lightning" that was talking about the improvements for 2001. Then, the post disappeared. Maybe they know what the future holds in store for them!! I can't wait to see timeslips on a chip/filtered 2001!!!

increase. Hell yes their worried about it!! A 380 h.p. truck! Add a chip and a few other little goodies......ZO6 beware.

I noticed they were talking mad ***** about street racing, and always winning, until I chimed in. It was like they ignored me.

I have no idea why.

Yeah Tundra, it always seems that when you post the links to your C5 and SS kills that no one seems to respond. I guess because vidoes puts the end to the magazine racers!

Yeah, that thread got pretty stupid near the end. One moron said that it takes NOS to make an L run 13.7. He basically said anyone claiming to run 13s either had major mods or NOS. The funny thing is, I don't think he even has an LS1 car or has ever been to the track. Probably has never even seen a Lightning. I have an L and a LS1 Z28, so I'm not biased either way. It didn't make any difference, they refused to believe a Lightning would run a 13.1 with a chip and filter.

Even the camaro site has something to say. I'm not trying to start a war, but they do speak of the L with some respect.

Sorry guys. If you click on the link it will take you to the site. Click on the "F-body site" for the topic:

"Ummm... what in the hell is THIS!??!?! Is this GM's answer to the SVT Lightning?"

I sifted through all 4 pages of that LS1.com kill post. Those chevy guys just don't want to admit the L is a worthy contender.

It's funny. All the chevy guys never "heard" of Gen 2 L's going faster than 14's. All the Ford guys say that they've never heard of a Gen 2 L going slower than 13's.
I tend to believe the ford guys. After all, they are the ones driving the trucks, not watching someone else drive them.

I don't own an L as of yet, but my neighbor who is 57 has a 00 L with 3400 miles on it and he lets me drive it when we race. I have raced one 99 SS camaro and I promise you from about 25 mph I smoked his a$$ until 118 mph and I let off. He was two behind and I heard his hood is up every weekend. I think he is trying to tweak it. He better!!!! Car vs. truck and I think that is some funny *****!!!

I believe the thread for the LS1 topic is under :
-The one that didn't get away.
-How Many Of You Have Ever Raced A Gen2 Lightning On The Street? (Page 1)

Hopefully this link will work.
