I ran the Chickenears VB for a while. It's make by Factory Tech and is commonly referred to as the FTVB. It was great when I initially installed it, but over time the shifts got softer.

The JLP VB is made by Level-10 last time I checked. I have been running a Level-10 Stage III Torque Master Built Transmission for a little over 6 months and it's great. It has the same VB in it that JLP sells.

Apparantly Factory Tech just shims stock VB's from what I've heard. Level-10 seems to make some good products and the Gen-1 guys are always raving about the VB's Level-10 makes for their trucks.

I respectfully disaggree......

The FTVB I purchased from Chickenears, and have been running for over 60,000 miles shifts just as hard and consistently as the day I installed it. I also have experienced a JLP valve body that has ZERO noticable shift firmness improvment from stock, in fact it seems to shift SOFTER than stock if that is even possible.

I agree with the man with the Stained Pits, (Just sounds Grungy) the Gregg Evans VB is the best out there and Tims service is impeccable..

I have to agree with the majority here. I just ordered a FTVB from Chickenears two weeks ago. I got the parts quickly and their service was great. Not to mention the FTVB kicks @ss.

Don't get me wrong fellas. I have no problem at all with Chickenears. In fact I've had nothing but positive experiences with them. It's just that IMHO the FTVB didn't live up to the hype for very long.

I feel it was more than likley that your tranny was going south from the higher than stock HP and TQ being put into it, and not the FTVB "wearing out"....

Valve Body

I did not see a link/thread/post when I searched to see if there was any same truck back-to-back comparisons of Valve Bodies. There were some posts expressing disappointment and some advising of good results. Does anybody know if there has been any comparison testing done?

Negative Ghost Rider. When I did the trans swap Level-10 opened up my old trans and told me that it looked almost brand new.
