Thumbs up Spanked a Stealth R/T

Again as last week.....i was minding my own business coming home from work when in my rear view i see this black stealth....I let him get a few carlengths in front of me and then i put it to the wood......I knew he was trying to race because of the smoke from his tailpipes...after I scorched his paintjob when i passed him he flashed his lights and proceeded to follow me to the gas station......he said my truck ran pretty good......but he swore he only had it half throttle.....I then reminded him of the car diving and lifting in the front from downshifting not to mention the smokescreen he emitted from his exhaust.....he hung his head and said.....I cant lie....i got beat by a truck...................

I think the Stealth, Talon, Eclipse (what else?) turbos can be pretty darn fast if they get a little tuning. Don't expect to beat all of them.

Had some fun with a modded out 300ZX today, left him in the dust but I also wonder how fast can those guys get.

Congrats on the kill by the way!

Was the Stealth a regular R/T or an R/T Turbo? Stealths come in a variety of configurations. '91-'93s could be had in base (170hp), ES (222hp), R/T (222hp) or R/T Turbo (300hp) configurations. Base models are pretty slow, ES/RT 5 speeds go low 15s, ES/RT autos run in the 16s. R/T Turbos (stock) run high 13s/14 flat. You can spot an R/T Turbo (as opposed to a FWD R/T) by the 17" wheels, the dual outlet dual tip exhaust, "Twin Turbo" in body-color raised letters on the doors, and "All Wheel Drive" on the quarter windows.

If you were in your 1st gen and your truck is fairly stock, my guess is you raced a non-turbo R/T. If you were in your new truck, it could have been the TT. My Lightning will smoke my modified R/T TT from a roll. Good kill, there's nothing like beating up on sports car with a pickup truck.

Those 90's eclipse/talon/lasers are modded cheap and they get fast. I worked on one of my friends 91 lazer turbo/awd and for about 1400 bucks in mods, all self installed it would post really low 13's. That thing was beautiful off the line with the awd. What was odd though is the sunroof started hissing when you hit about 140 or so.

2001L soon to be gracing my driveway
