PI Coverter?

I have a 02 Harley that I am building a new motor for and was wondering what stall PI coverter to use.Its a 20 over bore with chromoly rods, patriot ported heads, either JDM or LFP cams(havent decided),stock ported blower and intake,6lb lower pulley, accufab TB,cold air,and Magnaflow exhaust.Thing is I do use it to tow my 18ft trailer and Mustang and do not want to put to much converter in it to keep it from towing. What stall speed do you recomend.

if your using it to tow stickto the low 2K range 2200 or so would be my suggestion, any higher and you will overheat the trans towing if your not careful.

I have the lfp cams and woundnt recomend them , do to they are hard to tune in on start up an low end ideal. If you do go with them you will need a 2600 stall .And you will notice a loss of low end power. good luck

As far I know PI doesn't recommend towing with there converters. Try Dirtydog Performance. You can tow on his converters. He is priced about the same. Good luck

Have towed plenty with 2400-2600 rpm Circle D and a PI convertor, no problem. Use finned aluminum pan and 160 thermostat to control heat. Tranny temp gage showed no heating problems.

Use common sense and a convertor withi the above rpm range. If you are accelerating at part throttle with a lot of slippage in 2nd gear, lift slightly and let the convertor lock, then continue to accelerate, accelerates better and less slippage. Adjust your computer program to lock convertor earlier. Slippage is a potential issue only when the convertor is not locked, lock point can be controlled with software.
