Since you road race, why not use the 15-780 (OEM on 2000 Cobra R) or 15-784? You have to use a remote filter, but I would do that anyway.

Ford racing also has the higher capacity truck pan which looks to be the same as the Canton truck specific pan. Melling also now makes a high volume oil pump that will use the stock sized pickup which will come with the Canton pan/windage tray kit.

I'd use CP pistons instead of the Manleys. For the oil pump, I'd use the Ford Racing pump (basically a stock 4V pump). You'll have to cut the shield off the pickup tube as it doesn't clear in the 5.4. If you want the BEST modular oil pump, get one of the MMR modifed 4V pumps (cryo gears, o-ring seal).

On the pan, the only thing I can tell you is don't use the Moroso one.

Cliff, Seen your truck at Modular Depot. Is Ken and boys taking care of you. I got my built motor from them in 04. Good luck with your build.

Yep....there's no more fun to be had than setting your brand new bullet down in the hole only to find out the corners of the oil pan wont let it clear that last couple of inches....good times

Sal, why not the Manley Pistons to go with the rods?
At this late date I might not be able to change but I
would appreciate your wisdom.
