As I work with prototype vehicles for a living, it is a real treat to have something from a simpler time
Now that I don't have my Lightning any more, maybe I can get back to my "hobby" since it is nearly complete
It may not be the flashiest vehicle to restore, but it sure is unique especially since I am in the "rust belt" where I don't see these cars much anymore....

Hey it's great to hear that you're restoring it. We're going to restore ours to original but the funds are lacking a little right now. The guy who had it before us painted it cherry red but the original color is a navy blue so we're gonna get the exact match. All the electrical motors and wiring for the seats, top, windows and door-locks are gonna have to be replaced then tear out the 340 hp beast and rebuild it to new. Also the tranny-brake (for inclines) was worn out by one of the past owners by slamming it to drive while rolling backwards (idiot!) so that'll have to be looked after too. It's one of the biggest land-yachts I've ever driven (almost 20' in length) but it sure does turn a lot of heads
