Pure horror,

If you accept the repair, there is no way back. Ask for a new one.

If they don't replace it, take them to court.

Sorry about a non "L" owner posting here but hey I`m still a "F" owner

Clonetek,
Sorry to hear about your truck, makes you sick to see that happen. Just wanted to relate that back in the 80`s I work at a ...vy dealer and saw this happen more than once in 5yrs. The dealer I worked for was a good one and took care of the people. The worst one was on a dual post lift where one side kicked out at full lift height and dropped a 6 mth old Caprice Classic Broughm LS on its side. The owner a 60+ yr old lady was sitting in the waiting room waiting for her oil change to get done. The dealership owner was notified immediately and on his own doing the lady left much later that day in a new LS off the lot of her choice. Of course the dealer wrote the damaged car off in donating it to the local Bocees vocational school for auto tech but still took care of his customer and his employees mistake. Smaller damages happened also and he always did good by the customer.

I would take it to whatever level at the dealer it takes as THEY ARE responsible for the damages and your time. You didn`t spend all that money to have damages to your vehicle caused by them brushed aside as no big deal. Keep on them to get it fixed to your satisfaction and then some as in the long run it will affect you and your truck not them.
I hope they do good by you. Beautiful truck by the way!!! If I didn`t have kids I would have a "L" in the drive instead of the reg F150SC.

Question

Lightfootning

How can you avoid mentioning this at the time of resale ? All the people/buyers I know will run a check to see the history, accident damage etc.

I do not think it is only a tweaked rocker panel. This truck weighs 4700 lbs and if you drop it so hard that something bends...

I mean, you cannot bend some parts of the frame without getting the whole thing affected. It would be fine if you go off-roading every weekend, but on something that can travel at 140 mph, it had better be straight.

Perhaps I am wrong about the vehicle "history" thing. Maybe the little "owie will show up if someone checks. But,frame damage from from dropping "about" a foot ? I doubt it. If it were true, it would be a pretty weak frame indeed, it would scare me thinking that weak of a frame is holding up my truck while I am driving it.
I notice you are a mechanical engineer, perhaps your overthinking this? I hope clonetek tells us what the body shop people say. I also hope he gets it fixed right ASAP so he can once again enjoy it without having to look at the owie every time he gets in. Too bad it did not happen on the passenger side, that way at least he would not have to look at it every time he gets in
