On board video test
Hey computer guys what does it mean when I don't have the video, but I have the sound, and my computer says that it cannot locate the right deocpressor or something.
This is what is says:Unable to download an appropriate decompressor.
I don't get it, help!

Damn, those were kickass. The potential is great. I guess they aren't stand alone. Can you hook up 2 at a time to the same camera? What kind of exhaust do you have, sounds like straights, but with the volume a little lower, since I heard the blower whine.
I dont have a sony, and I dont think my olympus will allow for inputs.

Tundra:
Standalone? Do you mean the internet video or the camera(s)? How many cameras? I don't know how many, but the set up will allow for multiple cameras tied into a keypad. press a button and the video input is switched. I think the best camera setup would be one on the front grill, one inside or next to the receiver (those two somewhat permanent, but easily removable), plus a removable tripod mount behind the pass thru window with three cameras: looking left, right, and into the cab.
Mufflers - got two of them. The current mic location doesn't pick up the actual blower whine so I'll be adding a second mic to pick up the actual sound. I haven't found the best spot for it yet.

Yeah, I meant stand alone, as in the camera can record. I re-read your thread, and it looks like you plug it in to a central station. I still think its cool as heck, the video you can almost feel the acceleration, since its so close to the ground.
Spike Engineering-
I think there would be a big interrest in these videos, at least with me i love them. So please keep up the good work, the more videos the better.
thanks.

I should have known!
(I just noticed that that your picture is just out of turn two, and just prior to the time I would almost tear off your door handle)
I'm trying to keep the camera setup low budget. Hopefully, the telemetry is too much more. So far, my cost, excluding the camcorder, is about $250. Obviously, I haven't factored in my time.
When's the next day at the road races?
I may go to Sac on the 10th, but mainly to meet people and get them interested in road racing. I'm still having trouble with wheel spin with the new TB. Tonight on the way home (from looking at my new puppy!), it was 41 deg, and after a rolling start, I eased into the throttle. The tires broke loose - I never came close to full throttle. This section of road generally has good traction - I'm on it often.
If I had this modification on at Laguna Seca, I would have had trouble coming out of the last turn into the main straight.
I definitely need stickier tires. If I bought a set of the Hoosiers, can they be used at the drags? Just wondering...

Since there is interest in this, I'll post a link to a web site with specs, photos, ideas, etc.
Give me a day or two...
BTW, I'll have video this evening with a view from the front bumper (below the passenger headlamp).

1. If you have Quicktime on a Windows computer, and installed a different "player" after installing Quicktime, the wrong player may be registered to play the Quicktime movie. This happens often. The easiest fix is to download and reinstall Quicktime.
2. You have Quicktime but an older version. Then, download and reinstall the latest version.
Send me email if the above doesn't fix the problem.

I couldn't get it to work thru Windows Media player... even Version 7.
I couldn't download Quicktime 4.0 (install kept crashing)
Finally, I downloaded Quicktime 5 beta. And even with this, double-clicking the file wouldn't work, I had to start Quicktime and then to a "file..open". Then everything worked great.
I think my file associations are all screwed up.
