I placed an order for a 2001 Lightning about 4 months ago. I've tried to get some sort of order confirmation, but the dealer has been very ummm.. unhelpful.

I'm buying my lightning on the A-Plan, so my choice in dealers is limited.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get a VIN/build number out of the dealer?

The last quote from them was "Why do you want that? It'll get here when it gets here!"

Sadly there are some a$$hole dealers out there. Best way to do it is since you already asked nicely, be firm with them, shout, scream, hollar. If that doesn't work, go over your dealers head, straight to the top, don't even bother asking for his direct manager as most are probably buddies that go out after work together, so go the highest person that is working there. And if no of this works, do it the Texan way, Kick their ***!!

Oh, and when they ask you dumb questions like, "why do you want that?" and stupid stuff like "It'll get here, when it gets here" Let them know how stupid they are for asking that, and tell them b/c it's YOUR information, not theirs, and you want it. Don't let them **** you around, b/c they will only do it worse and worse. Oh and to top it off, tell them that you insist on a weekly report!

What area are you in. There are plenty of dealers in the S.E. MI area that will do the A-Plan. Let them know if they keep messing with you, you will find another dealer!

 

I'm in Seattle, but I have plenty of family in the Monroe/Detroit/LaPeer area. They're just jerking me around.

My guess is that they didn't really know what A-plan was, so now they're pissed because they're making virtually nothing on me...
