On the freeway this morning just a few miles south of Lakewood Blvd in Long Beach I spoted a white Lightning a little in front of me. I pulled up next to him to get a better look and then I could see that just in front of him there was a red Lightning too. (Anyone on this board?) So the three of us were in a pack driving together, two reds and one white. It was pretty cool...

Starting to see more and more of these trucks. Plus, they're making what? 7,000 new 2001's. Pretty soon they'll be like Beetles & PT Cruisers. Everywhere.

On the east side of town, out toward Saticoy. Don't make it past the Conejo Grade very often.

 

The more the merrier. Last week I was driving north on Victoria in Oxnard and spotted a white L. pulled over to the side of the road. It was not any place where I would have pulled over (narrow shoulder, traffic doing 70) so I thought he might be in trouble. Pulled over and backed up to check it out. Driver was on his cell phone, said no problem. OK, so we both pulled away, him in one lane, me in the other. Got stopped by the light at Olivas, rolled my window down, he just looked straight ahead and ignored me. Seemed very unfriendly, especially after I just checked on his welfare. I've met a few L. drivers on the road, and this was the first one who didn't want to stop and chat. Oh well, it takes all kinds.
