I am interested in installing an Airraid kit on my '00 lightning(#866 built 3/8/00).Is the performance gain worth the $200.00 and is there more blower noise under boost?

 

MADDOG - tried the Airraid about a year ago - seems to be well thought out - it also works well with a chip. I am now using the stock box minus the rubber air inlet with JLs Ram Air kit - works just as well if not better than the Airaid - remember to use a K&N filter in the stock box. This set up seems to add slightly more torque at the low end than the Airraid. Cost is the same with an added bonus - if the truck goes to the dealer for warranty - well you'll figure it out!

I just recently installed a PSP filter setup that I bought from Sixpipes. I also installed a JL flip chip. I put the chip in first and tested it and then the filter, their was noticeable power increase. As for the sound, be prepared it sounds very mean. It literally screams. It only gets loud when you get in the boost, at other times it sounds no different. I think it is worth the money, you might also want to check the classifieds, I got a used one for 100.
