A thought to ponder. Would it be cost effective for Ford to extend the cab of the L, and shorten the bed keeping the overall length the same and reduce the truck's weight using composite material on the bed(like the Sport Trac). Just an idea.

 

I think a Lightning with an extended cab would look ugly. If Ford was to use any composites I think the cab would be a better place for the composites.

 

no it would not....

ford cannot build a completely custom vehicle for a tiny Niche market like the lightning.
