i have been quoted $33,500 by a dealer in new york for a 2001 lightning, i would be very interested if anyone knows of a cheaper supplier of a lightning than this, but i would also consider a 2000 lightning, i would be interested if anyone knows of any second hand 2000 lightnings for sale, or any dealer that can supply one cheaper than the price i have originally found.

Don't get taken. I don't think Lightnings are such a hot ticket item any more, what with the high gas prices, and Ford is building twice as many this year. Lots of folks on this board got their 2000s for MSRP or less, sometimes a lot less. You should be able to find a 2001 for less than sticker, especially if you are willing to travel a little. Even though I own one, I can't recommend a 2000, 'cause you will surely have to go through the hassle of replacing the intercooler. The '01s have enough significant improvements to make it worth your while.

thanks for the info alphadoggy, i am not bothered about travelling but realistically it has to be within 1000 miles of new york, as i am planning on shipping the vehicle back to the UK. i am after a 2001 if possible but am struggling to find a good priced one
