Initial thoughts on JDM Chip (semi-long)
After installing JDM's new chip Monday and getting a feel for it, here are my initial thoughts.
The config I ordered was Street/Race(93/100 mix). Bear in mind I had the R9/'modified stock/towing" programs previously and removed the chip altogether for winter.
Around town. Just as docile as the R9 is/was and much better than stock. The R9 hit second gear a bit harder under light to moderate throttle than the JDM does. 50/50 on this one.
The one thing I liked about the R9 is that it didn't allow the tranny to "fall" into OD at 40-45 mph then downshift into third under light to moderate throttle. Since most of my in-town driving is done at these speeds so I'd prefer to have this configuration from the JDM.
On the Gas. It seems to pull a bit harder off the line (if I ever get it to hook on BFG Comp T/A's)
Kick down from 55. Two words... HOLD ON. Much more pull in the higher RPM range than the R9.
Track times and Race program. To date, unknown. Waiting on facilities to open.
Overall thus far.... Very satisfied.
Will update as testing continues....

Shooting for 12's on street tires
JL Ram Air, JDM Chippage, Pulley (on the way), Driveshaft Loop (on the way), Keyless Entry, Retrax Bed Cover, Shackles, Wet Okoles, Mobil 1/FilterMag, Clear Corners (maybe tails)

Bob,
Glad to hear about that new chip, sounds awesome. I was wondering, what is your e-mail? I was wanting to drop you a line about coming home in a few months, maybe we could get together and smoke some people.

Hi Bob,
The top end power of this chip is quite amazing it is a very hard pull all the way through 4th unlike others that you feel like the motor is winding up more and not pulling as much after 90 mph.Bob we will have to go racing this spring since we live fairly close to each other.

I made a few runs last night with my new JDM chip. This was done on the race side. Thats the only thing i have on the truck. I didnt touch the tire pressure or anything. I know my RT sucks lol.

1/4 mph - 101.38 - - - 101.05 - - .33mph
It doesn't seem quite right. Seems like my unchipped Lightning gains .06 on the chipped Ligntning, between the 1/8th mile and 1/4 mile. But that maybe due to my straight pipes mod(?). Also, the most noticable gain seems like its from the difference in 60' time.
Say, BackInBlackLightning, what was your stock time?

Tundra,
Just looking at the timeslip differences, yes, I'd say its ALL in the 60'.
But really you cannot compare times from one track to the next, and in many cases from one day to the next.
Where I race in N. Texas its almost always considered "lousy air"...when compared to the guys who race in the northeast. 90^F, 29.00" baro. press., 50+% humdity.
The only way to tell is to take a stock truck and run it and then put the mods on and run it...and even then, IMHO, the dyno is better at telling overall gains. So maybe BackinBlack can report what his truck ran stock and hopefully it was in air that was close to what he just ran in.
For instance, my truck only ran 13.95 @ 99mph stock in the abovementioned conditions. I seriously doubt it was really and slower than another typical stock L, no matter what the clock says (seen only one at my track run faster stock, and that was a 13.88 in 50^F air). But, slap a chip and air inlet/filter kit on it and knock off .75 and gained almost 5mph. Dyno showed a gain of 40+rwhp.
