Water Channel Crack

Anybody ever noticed crackes in your water channel on the roof of your truck? I was standing in the bed looking at my back window when I noticed cracks on the sides of the water channels on both sides.... Im not sure if the metal is split, or if its just the paint... anybody here know???

If you run your fingernail over it you'll find that it is a caulk coating over the metal.
That stuff cracking is standard fare.
Cracks out of sight to casual viewing is better than the possible rust alternative.

Water channel cracks

There was a TSB out on this problem. Search Alldata for the TSB. I used to have a subscription to Alldata but it expired so maybe someone can post up the TSB.

Dont stand in the Bed and look at your water channels

My 02 had cracks in it, my 99 too, the 00 has been garaged or under cover since it was born and even with that I've noticed some small ones starting...

JUST DONT LOOK AT IT
