Cool Supercharged Frontier

Just watched the Nissan commercial (for the umpteenth time) where Howie Long tells everybody what terror we will feel in our hearts when we see the supercharged 210 h.p. Frontier in our rear views. I find this rather amusing. Went over the the Nissan web site to tell them how much I was quaking in fear that a Frontier might appear in my mirror, and how that would be the only view I would have (temporarily) of it, but they don't have an e-mail link. I can hardly wait til they bring it on, though.

Only 240ft lbs isn't gonna get it, even on a light truck. i think the blower is only available on the 4dr or x-cab top of the line model. http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/2001...rst_drive.html

Personally I think it is one bad a$$ 4wd mid size truck!! It looks mean, great wheel/tire combo and im sure it has plenty of power.

Its obvious they didnt do this to compete with us,Its a totally different segment.

I give two thumbs up to nissan. They did more than chevy has done !!!

It isn't made to compete with the Lightning...
I like it, but it isn't a replacement for the lightning, nor even a subsitute.
It would be a cool winter battlemobile, 4x4, good power for it's segment, and hauls 4.

Thumbs down

Well, if it isn't made to compete with the Lightning then why doesn't Howie say, "This is a sight that other trucks don't want to see in their mirrors, except for Lightnings, of course"? I am not dissing the truck, I checked one out at the L.A. auto show and I rather like it, except for the anemic towing capacity. I'd bet the build quality is higher than an L. If it had been available a few months ago I might have bought one for my kid instead of a Ranger. I am just making fun of the ludicrous ad copy, and anyone stupid enough to swallow that load of crap. If someone buys a Frontier SC because he thinks he is going to wax an L. with it he is going to be in for a rude surprise.

Just watched the short version of the ad again. Howie describes the Frontier as "part street fighter, part jet fighter" (sure), and adds, "not a good time to be another truck". Now I can hardly wait for one of those suckers to come looking for trouble. Bring it on.

Remember when Toyota was advertising the Tundra? Fastest import truck...Most powerful (base) v8...Fastest 0-60 (when tested vs base v8s)...

Those were the days...(sigh)

I think I might have to get one of those on tape, incase a Toyota guy comes on here saying ghe smoked a Lightning. Nothning like being prepared.

A friend of mine from work bought one of those. His is a 2wd version and he says it's not quite as fast as his Eclipse, but he hasn't had it to the track yet to get any numbers.
