Post How much is for insurance on the L

I really want to get my hands on one, at this point I'll take either a 2000 or 2001 but I'm scared about the insurance.

I'm a 23 male in New Jersey, anyone have any idea about how much it would cost for me to insure?

Capt,

Try www.progressive.com .

I did a few quotes and saved myself 400 bucks with the same coverage. Yes, they classified it as a Lightning and no, I don't work for them

My insurance here in NC(near Charlotte) is $544 a year for my 99 L. Thats for full coverage w/$250 deductable and me being 25, non-married. I have been with the same agent/company for 9 years.(Nationwide which list it as a SVT F150)

Speedin Bob - That place doesn't give insurance to NJ, Jersey insurance is high becuase we are all horrible drivers and alot of companies won't insure here. Thanks though.

WHTLIGHTN - do you mean 4500 or 450, b/c 450 seems really low.

Greatest legal scam ever hatched.

I'm insuring my plain-old 2000 silver F150 (which just happens to run 13.7's bone stock with the blown 5.4) for the princely sum of $400 per year, fully covered, $250 deductible. Insurer didn't/doesn't have a clue. Imagine my shock when the quote came in. Perhaps I need to insure one of those 488 cubic inch V10 Dodge - uh - NEONS with them, also.

Last week I bought a 2000 Lightning with 10,000 miles on it, and I found this:
For me, 18 year old male, to be insured by AAA (under my parents), it's $150 cheaper for me to drive the Lightning than a 2001 Nissan Maxima (my other choice).
AAA thinks of the Lightning as a 4x2 Ford Pickup with a V8. Not a big deal to them.

i was 20 years old when i bought mine and to have the truck in my name with a clean record fully covered was gonna cost $5400 an year. thats $450 a month. but i bought it thru my company and put it on the fleet policy and it is $900 a year. i was as shocked as you all was. my agent told me that it is listed as a high performance vehicle and that was why it was so high.
