Can anyone give me any contact info to get my Vin#, Production date, etc. I just called my dealer (Tommie Vaughn) and they said they wouldn't have any info until February 1st at the earliest. Something doesn't sound right to me.

When did you order it?
It took my dealer about a month to get me my VIN
I got my dealer order reciept about a week after I ordered it(dora)

 

I ordered it at the end of August and haven't gotten a call from them yet. I was thinking of trying to find another dealer, but don't know if it's too late to still place an order.

 

I think it is time to go above the sales deptment, or your salesman. Go in and talk to the general manager.

Tell him you want the (Dora) Dealer order reciept acknowlegement.

Then ask him for the New Vehical Inquiry

My dealer has given me both of these forms, and your dealer can get these for you too.

I don't think I would go to another dealer, you will just delay getting the truck. Unless you find one that has one ordered and not spoken for.

I ordered mine 11/25/00 I had the Dora 11/28/00 and the NVI on 12/28/00

Let's not forget that these trucks sell for $10,000 more than the next model under them; they appeal to a limited buying audience; they are building twice as many this year as last and they still have some of those left over; we are well into a softening economy; gas prices have skyrocketed and these animals do gulp...

etc., etc., and on and on...

I will buy at MSRP; I will wait for delivery; but I don't think anyone should take any crap from a dealer who doesn't bust his *** to give them the very best service possible.

 

Wait They dont sell that much higher in Texas. I was at lot today and saw 2000 Ext cab with leather seats, and 4.6 liter that was stickered for $31,000. No profit markup or overpriced Roush or Saleen stickers.

I wasnt aware they are building 9000 Lightnings in 2001 when was that announced ?

I believe they are building 7500 Lightnings this year as opposed to the 4000 SVT produced last year.

I agree with the others in that your salesman should be able to give you the DORA.
