Mark,
Are these drive shafts complete? Do the come complete with TRANS yoke and universal joints? Will these be a direct bolt on?
Is FMS the ones that make the factory Ford drive shaft?
Thanks

From what I remember the driveshafts are a direct bolt-in. And weigh 6 lbs lighter than our steel ones. The $64 question is whether or not that includes shipping. But I think I know the answer to that.
Dont you guys know the only time people in Alaska make money in Alaska is the summer time? You know damn well we only got 7 inches of snow this winter, and that got washed away in 5 inches of rain we had all day yesterday. That's good for winter businesses.

Hey Guys,
Mark here. Let me answer some of your questions. No, I don't work for Ford. I have a very good relationship with FMS because of the amount of time and money I spend with them (ie: FRPP's T/B, Alum. Driveshafts and other related gen1 & gen2 stuff).Yes, these are complete units with trans yoke & universal. Ready to bolt on. This is not a stock item. FMS brought them in with my gurantee to take them. If they do become an item they will retail for $247.50+tax or shipping. I would also like to mention that, although your parts are sold by FMS they are Very seldom mfged. by Ford. Most all parts are sourced out. This driveshaft is being built by a private Co. in Mich..No, the price does not incude shipping. I can not determine that without your city,St.,zip. To those who have already committed to purchase one, the total cost so far, has not gone over $238.50. Still a very good price. My order due in next week should get me a slightly better price ( $5.00-$8.00 ). This will offset your shipping. If you are interested please feel free to drop me a post.As always, thanks for your interest. Later!

The aluminum driveshaft first of all is a little lighter than ours which helps with rotating mass weight. It will also help with excess wear on driveline harmonics!

blue blood,
The driveshaft i have is the same one that goes on the 01.I paid less than that because my racing buddy has a friend that works at his ford dealership parts dept.and we both ordered one and he gave it to him at his cost!

I suppose your talking about the 2nd Gens.
I am sure most of you know the 1st gens have a 4" aluminum driveshaft in now. I was thinking of a larger shaft but the clearance on the 1st gens seemed to be limited. I barely have room for Driveshaft loop. I know they are also offering a lighter 5" driveshaft for the 1st gens on the SVTPerformace's website (one of the FORUMS)
BUT I have only seen two broken shafts at the track and both were a result of severe wheel hop. Which even the 4.5" could not help.

JDM has a 5 inch? We have a 4.5 here.
soundz like I will have to do some research on this...how many are there???
Carbon Fiber rules..but the price..had it on my 1998 Z28...its up in Wichita Falls at Nitrous Express...it smoothed the car out beaucoup...the carbon is king.....
but with my mere pittance...I might have to settle for the aluminum...sire...

High Roller,
The drive shaft you ordered from ford, did that come complete as a direct bolt on? Or did you have to ad anything? i.e the trans yoke and universal joints?
Thanks
