12 sec club...
Alright fellows, here's the scoop, whos in and whos not. Post your mods, and slips if you can.
HANKFAN, "10secL" (2ndgen) and I are fighting a battle over at another site and I am looking for ammmo. They dont beleive he went 12s with "just a chip, intake, and pullies." Looking to set them straight...
I also dont want to give away the cough-camaro-SNEEZE-z28.com-haCK site that has the doubt until we have enough ammo.
I do know that Ray went 12.9 with just a chippenfilter (as 4DTHNDR puts it) and straights, and same goes to ibfast. Haven;t seen a post like this in a while...
One last thing, if you also happen to be on another 'sign-in' I helped pass along, just tell us a very close friend of yours has a lightning that went 12s or something.

I made 16 runs in the 12's on the last day of the season at Byron. My best was a 12.81@105.85
Mods are chip filter, shiftkit, oval TB, C&L MAF and BFG DR's. Zor Prime, BlackSVTruck, and the track owners' Lightning also ran in the 12's that day. Best was a 12.72 @ 106+ in Daves BlackSVTruck with chip, & JL ram air kit only.

R9 chip, JL cold air/Powerstack filter, boost solenoid disconnected, 2" rear lower.
Stock Goodyears, no pressure drop. This is not a G-Tech time, but was run at Cecil County Dragway in Maryland.
13.110@105.91mph, with a lousy 2.08 60ft. With a halfway decent launch, I should be into the 12s with a chip/filter only, no pulley (yet).

OK, I went over to Z28.com and read the thread. To be perfectly honest, the original post was pretty inflammatory. I'm pretty sure everyone on this board would respond as negatively as they did if a Z28 guy come over here and started a thread in that manner.
I own a '99 Z28 M6 and an '00 Lighting. For reasons I can't explain, the Lighting is much easier to launch the Z28. I'm certain that if you were to put slicks on a stock M6 LS1 Z28, it would beat a chip/filtered L. My completely stock Z28 is going 107 mph in the 1/4, my chip/filtered L is going 106. By looking at my timeslips, the L has the advantage up to 1/8 mile, while the Z28 does the last 1/8 1 second faster than the Lightning. My honest opinion is that as long as both vehicles are on stock tires, it is easier and cheaper to make an L run in the 12s. Add slicks to the equation and make the goal low 12s and the Z28 has the advantage. I personally value everyday streetable performance over track numbers, so I prefer the Lightning. If my priorities didn't include running at the track in full street trim, the advantage goes to the Z28.

Tundra,
No times yet of any kind.....I will bust my rear this year trying to find the elusive 12's one way or another. JL, this new chip had better perform!! j/k, I have faith in you!!
I have a feeling this year will produce many 12's club members. Watch out LS1's.
