White Lightning -

239 Posts....about 235 must be bitching about the damn intercooler. Bitching here over and over and over and over and over again won't do a damn thing.

The fix is coming. You have nothing to do with it. Complaining more and more on this board is not going to magically free up resources for Ford to work on this. SVE is just a TINY division within ford that your avg joe doesn't know or care about. SVE's funds and people are not limitless. They have a budget to work with.

I understand your frustration...but the constant complaing is getting irritating.

Ford, Chevy or Mopar they all treat things like this the same way. They'll fix the problem for next years model first.... then, maybe, they'll work on this/past years problem. Case in point..... The horrific and infamous locking steering wheel problem in the 97 thru 2000 C5s. A hell of lot more crys went up to corporate GM on this than from the comparatively fewer L owners to corporate Ford. What did GM do about it???? They fixed the problem on the 2001 C5 and to my knowledge the earlier years are still stuck... It's simply a matter of dollars and cents. If "officially" Ford or Chevy doesn't recognize the problem then they don't have to do a massive recall. Unofficially they'll fix it in subsequant models therefore minimizing negative financial/legal impact on themselves (2001L). Do you think if there wasn't a class-action suit on the 99 Cobra HP issue that Ford would have stepped up to the plate and fixed them out of the kindness of their hearts? I think not. This scenario has played out countless times before and I imagine countless times in the furture with ALL auto manufacturers.

Well, if you think the intercooler problem is that bad, its a good thing you didn't buy a 99' Cobra. I won't even go into the problems of the car. That said, my L has had no problems, yet (only 3,800 miles). Oh yeah, the L replaced the Cobra. Best thing I ever did.
