Can anybody tell me if ford normaly reflashes from cux1 to cux2 when a truck is in for service? My surging started after the intercooler was replaced and I've been told this might have happened causing the surging.

 

They didn't do it to mine.

FWIW,
I was *told* once before that when the mechanic plugs your car into the computer (scope?) and types in the VIN, the computer will reflash it automatically if there is an update.

There have been a good number of posts from people stating that they took their cux1 L in for service and it came back a cux2 (i.e. their cux1 chip stopped worked and they had to get it reflashed to a cux2 chip).

Over the summer my intercooler went bad and they replaced it and i had a cux1 computer in it,when i picked up my L they told me they flashed my computer to a more updated program which is now the cux2.My chip did not work at that time i had to have it reburn for a cux2 and i am very happy how it runs!I know of several L owners that went into there dealership just to have there computer reflashed to a more current program and both are very happy!

If they flash your computer ford will put a new tag above your cooling fan with your new code # on it!
