i ran into some kid who said that said his stock s-10 ss spanks 2nd Gen lightnings all the time, what do ya guys think about that flase statement

and i raced him, with my R/T with only air intake and a PCM, and blew his doors off, he said he dint get good traction and i spun through second while he was grabbing pavement, foolish kids...wait i'm 19

I like that. You spank 'em by 18-wheeler-lengths (help me out here) and they still have the nerve to say that didn't have traction.

 

A buddy of mine that works at a local Kragens has an S-10 with a LT(S)-1 motor in it. He says he's running 11's. I think I need to take a digital camera down by there one of these days. Moral: Watch out, some S-10's might be sleepers.

An S10 with a V8 becomes a hot rod. Bt still, a nice sleeper.

 

I saw a 98 S-10 that was on a very strict weight diet. No fenderwells, no emissions equipment, not totally stripped down; but, you could see the ground when looking in the engine compartment. It had a ZZ3 crate motor with a Ford 9" and bed mounted gastank and battery. It also had a full interior. Two years ago, I saw it do 13.3; this past season it did a 12.7. The outside looked totally stock.

 

A stock S-10 beating a 2nd Gen Lightning?

The only way a stock SS-10/eXteme would cross the finish line first would be if we pushed it..

 

Buldog I take offense to that kid statment J/K, He's just a moron thats all. There must be allot of guys putting lightning badges on there supercabs.

The eXtreme is basically just an effects package. Chevy did/does make an SS version of the S-10 that's different from an extreme. A friend of mine has one. That said, its a stock S10 with a claimed extra 15 horses from better breathing. Certainly nothing for a Lightning to worry about.
