Going to OTP tomorrow!
"OK," people!!
I'm leaving at 3 a.m. to drive into Canada, and see my baby get built tomorrow!!
If anyone on the board had a build date around Monday the 15th, send me your VIN# and color, i'll see if i can track it on the line with mine!! I'll give you a line report when I get home!!
I'm planning on being there all day, seeing it takes a day to go down the line. If you want pictures, "no can do." They told me no cameras in the plant!
I'm so hyped, i won't be able to sleep! Anyone have any sleep remedies?
I hope it's a boy! he,he,he.

Hey Thor, want to tell the guys at OTP to MOVE up my build date to sometime this month instead of late late Feb.???? There's a dead presidents bill with your name on it, if it gets done!!!

I don't know if they do plant tours?
I will ask when I get there! I think it would be a good idea For SVT to give the customers a chance to see their Lightning or Cobra get built!!

I was in Lightning Heaven!!! I arrived at the plant about 9:00 a.m. We looked up my plant tracking number amd started looking for the cab and bed.
When we found it, it was sweet! Right out of paint. No scratches,dings or dents. Then my guid took me to chassis build up where I watched my chassis go together! Then trim. Ford should have plant tours for SVT owners!!!.
I watched them put the trans to the engine, engine to the frame! Engine crates just full of L motors. I asked if they could put an extra one in the bed of the truck before it gets to the dealer. J/K! A big "NO," followed that suggestion. I was just in awe over how the body & bed are set on the frame. All automated. They build six Lightnings an hour. About 42-48 a day.
The lightnings are built according to the schedule in the computer. They do not do a run of lightnings, then build 4X4's. They are all mixed on the line. Everyone was cool and did a fine job on the truck! I followed the truck off the line and drove in it, to final prep. I even set my radio stations, so I won't have to do it when i pick it up from the dealer, he,he,he.
I wish I had a video camera for all to see how they go together! I had a great time. I just got in after 4hrs and been on my feet all day walking with the truck!! Can you say sleep depravation.

That sounded GREAT!!! Boy, what'd I'd do to see my own L being built.
The best I could do was watch the video again on how Mustangs are built and dream... ;->
