Post Is water injection worth it?

I was wondering if any of you have had experiance with water injection systems such as the carroll system. I was thinking of adding it and running around 8 to 10 pounds of boost on the kenne bell. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I had a 90 Vette (C4) with a 7 pound boost supercharger that had water injection. I could control the water injection starting point via a pressure sensor on intake manifold vacuum. Like MRBBQMAN said its crude but worked fine. One by-product of the water injection was it would blow out any carbon from the heads through the tail pipes. After a while you could see little bits of carbon sticking to the *** end of the car ( they just wash off). So you could tell if I was running boost after a while by looking for the specks on my white car. That car needed the water because my engines compression was 10.5 # with 7 # boost at Max RPM. If I didn't run water I would needed some ignition retard system while under boost conditions. I sold the car to a friend, and someone at a dealer (during an oil change) took it for a joy ride. The Bad luck was no water in the holding tank for water injection. He burned a hole through one Piston and returned the car without saying anything. But even running on 7 cylinder it still hauled *** till he blew up the motor completely.

Just buy a '99 or '00 Lightning and you'll get it free of charge.
