Post Dual Dynomax's Finally Installed

Thanks for everyones advice I finally found someone to install my 2 dynomax race magnums. (Thanks GOTECHS-Went to Todd).
The shop had no problem w/the 2 mufflers or installing the x pipe. Took him about an hour. At first when he started it up he & I were shocked that being straight through it was so quiet, but I remember a post that said after a day or two it got deeper. Now it's day three & the regrets officially went away.

I'd like to hear yours one day.

I'll be headed there on Saturday to put on the Magnaflow.

I wanted one that will not rumble through inside the cabin but sound much sportier than the stock.

GOTECHS
I would like to hear yours too. After you have the Magnaflow installed maybe we can meet up to compare. I imagine yours could be louder since you have the JBA.
BTW, Todd is great guy & is the 1st shop I have ever found that doesn't deal in all the BS.
Thanks Again
Chris

Thumbs up

norcalsvt , What part numbers did you use? I would be interested in hearing your setup also. Maybe a Sat or Sun get together can be planned at a local brewery for all bay area owners to compare notes. Brad

Did you order the round or oval? What is the correct diameter for inlet/outlet. You had the Ultra flo welded installed?

I'm looking to order today and would to get it done right the first time.

Black L,

I put round Dynomax bullet race mufflers on mine and I'm afraid to say that after about day 3 the noise level is becoming too much for my ears. Sounded perfect at first - keeps getting louder. Not as loud with the chip removed though. But, I like the chip and it's staying in. I used the 4"x16"'s. Go with what NorcalSVT did unless you like it LOUD.

The pipes inlet/outlet is 2.5"

Norcal,

I'll let you know how it sounds after it gets installed tomorrow.

Let's meet up one weekend.

The mufflers I used are 17218 & 17219. They are 2 1/2 oval (C)in/(C)out & (O)in/(C)out. I suppose that whatever setup you buy the muffler guy can figure out a way to install it. Mufflers were $60 each. The X pipe was custom made by the shop & parts /labor was $100 even. No interior drone at highway cruising. IMOH this is how the L should have sound from the factory.

GOTECH:Good luck tomorrow & definately want to hear how it so

Luv2put:If you are by SSF I'll meet you so you can hear the setup.

NorcalSVT,

Thanks for your reply, I was shopping around and got a price from NAPA on the mufflers @ $104 a piece. Looks like I'll need to shop around some more.

I didn't know if an offset was needed thanks for your help.

Any one know of a good exhaust shop in the Chicagland area? I'm in the western burbs.

Thanks!

found the mufflers @ summit for $59.95each + $6.95 shipping. Only thing is there out of stock on the center/offset ones.

Is it possible to use 2 center(in) center(out)?

Thanks!

NorcalSVT (Chris)

I like the improvement with the magnaflow.

It's better than stock now when idling.

The stock one did not have that "mean" burble when idling. What's great is that the sound does not have any interior resonance at all and yet sound really good outside.
